Firstly, I would like to say that the show was not just about how Black women feel about not being able to find a Black man. Somehow, it is being perceived that ALL Black women have this animosity towards other races, White women in particular. There were issues within this show that not only Black women deal with, but women of every color. However, finding a good Black man is a hot topic in the Black female community. I am a Black woman and I would just like to set some things straight as far as from my own perspective. No one is obligated to date within their own race, but you cannot say it is unusual for someone to naturally look within their own race for a mate. So for me as a young Black woman, I find that it's difficult to come across what I'm looking for because men in general, especially within my age range, are not worth the time. A lot of men today are just not of the quality they should be. Like I said before, that refers to men in general. When you become specific and attempt to find a Black man, a lot of times you will see one with a woman of another race. Very rarely though will you see a Black woman dating someone other than a Black man. Yes, that is in part by choice, but it also has to do with men from other backgrounds dating within their own cultures. These men just are not seeking a Black woman. It's just natural for people to look for companionship within their own race. I believe Tyra stated that in 73% of interracial relationships the man is Black. This is not surprising at all. So you must understand some of the

do u guys honestly think that tyra meant to come off that way?? C'mon...give me a break...u all need to take a breather. I like tyra and u shouldnt judge her on this one show. cool it down!

THE ISSUE IS NOT THAT WHITE WOMEN OR ANY OTHER RACE IS STEALING BLACK MEN THE ISSUE IS THAT BLACK MEN SAY THAT THEY DATE WHITE WOMEN BECAUSE THEIR HAIR IS LONG, REAL, THEY DONT (COMPALAIN WHICH IS A LIE) THEY SCUBBA DIVE, HIKE ,HUNTING AND OTHER STUFF THAT MOST BLACK WOMEN DONT DO AND THEN THESE BLACK MEN SAY THAT WE DONT TAKE CARE OF OR DONT UNDERSTAND THEM THE ISSUE IS NOT ABOUT WHO THEY DATE, MARRY OR HAVE KIDS WITH THE REAL ISSUE IS THE RESPECT THAT THEY HAVE CLEARLY LOST FOR THE BLACK WOMAN. I PERSONAL DONT GIVE A DAMN WHO THE BLACK MAN IS WITH, BUT DONT DISRESPECT US BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU ARE ON TOP OF THE WORLD. AND ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT THE ISSUE WILL SEPERATE THE RACE OF WOMEN IS JUST STUPID IN ITSELF IF YOU HATE ME BECAUSE I SAY THAT WHITE WOMEN OR ANY OTHER RACE IS STEALING BLACK MEN THEN YOU DINDT LIKE ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. GET OVER YOURSELVES I LOVE THAT IM A BLACK WOMAN THAT WEARS CRAZY SHORT HAIR STYLES AND THAT I ROLL MY EYES AND CAN CATCH A ATTITUDE IN ONE GLANCE THATS ME AND IF A MAN WANTS ME TO CHANGE WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE TOGETHER BECAUSE I AM WHO I AM AND THATS TRUE TO THE HEART. BLACK WOMEN DONT CONCERN YOURSELVES WITH BLACK MEN IF THEY DONT WANT TO BE WITH YOU FINE THERE ARE LOTS OF FINE WHITE MEN.

Well, I for the most part could relate to some of the issues that were presented but in no way agree with whole black men dating white women is wrong. First off, as some other ladies have stated just because you are a black woman do you get priority or dibs on "black men." I personally don't have a preference seeing as how my man is mexican and the only reminder I get everyday when I'm with him is from other people. Majority of the people that like to point us out are indiviudals who are not dating outside of their race talking down to us. Maybe the concept was on track of having an all black audience for people to voice "honest" opinions but alot of things were left out. If your man is black and you just so happen to be white, asian, mexican, black, latino or whatever your nationality don't accept someone telling you that you are not worthy. It is 2008 and you can't keep blaming the "white ppl" or playing the race card and hating on lighter skinned girls saying they have it all good. There just men and if you find a good one and he's not black owell be happy you got a good one.

Tyra: I want to begin by saying that I think you are one of the most amzing women to ever walk the face of the Earth. I am a gay man who is lucky enough to be able to watch TV at work so I watch your show every day. I will also add that you are gorgeous and I would totally have your babies! LOL Anyway as I was watching you show today, you were discussing women's fashions and cooking with Sandra Lee. Would you consider haveing a segment on men's fashions as well? Something like "How to dress your man". I dated a guy a while back and at times was embarrassed to be seen in public with him being dressed the way he was. I know that some of your female viewers have to feel that same way. Keep up the good work, you are amazing!

That episode was ridiculous! These are the messages I got from that: 1. Black women are better than white women 2. White women better stay away from black men cause they're black women's men 3. Stay in your own race with dating 4. Black women have it soo bad, they never get anything good 5. White women are stealing black men from black women FOR GOD'S SAKE THEY ARE JUST PEOPLE! BLACK MEN SHOULD NOT BE ANYONE'S "PROPERTY" LET THEM DATE WHO THEY WANT IF YOU'RE A BLACK WOMEN AND YOU THINK YOU'VE SEARCHED THE WORLD AND CAN'T FIND A GOOD BLACK MAN THEN WHY NOT DATE A WHITE MAN? ARE THEY EVEN WORSE? IN FACT WHY DO YOU EVEN CALL THEM BY THEIR COLOR THEY ARE JUST MEN! WE ARE JUST WOMEN! WE SHOULD ALL BE EQUAL!!!!!! E-Q-U-A-L!!! And Tyra you should be spreading that ^^^ not what you did show And for you're information, white women don't have it easy finding a man, if that's what you're thinking we have it just as hard it's NO different I am DISGUSTED with the material on that episode By the way, that was the first episode of your show I watched, AND I'M NEVER WATCHING ONE AGAIN!!!

THIS IS A MESSEGE TO THE WHITE WOMEN WHO HAVE COMMENTED I have heard many comments from women of other races making comments about black women not being "good women", you hear only the black mans side of it. You all talk as if it is all of the black womens fault that black relationships don't work, nothing against you all but some of the black men in my family date white women and other races and often they speak of the white women like they are their cash cows. It is all about what you guys buy them, how much they can get away with as far as not being faithful, how you all are ignorant to game that is being run on you, not saying this is the case with all interacial relationships. Most black women have been raised in homes where their mothers are the head of household not just financially & even when the father is in the home, and many black women want the comfort of being taken care of for once and not having to be the head all of the time, white women have experienced this kind of security from their fathers and other white men and therefore don't see it a problem picking up the slack for black men or dealing with thie bullshit, you have no idea of what we black women experienced. The black man on the other hand having seen their single black mothers be head of the household often have the attitude that black women can do it on their own and therefore it is easy for them to step away from us and responsibility, this is just my opinion I don't know if anyone other black women or men agree but this is what I see. BTW,

I found this show incredibly offensive. I cannot believe the topic. By doing shows with this subject matter you are reintroducing stereotypes and discrimination. It is irresponsible and saddening. I am ashamed for you and your producers.

i was really offended by that show. Were stealing your men? HA! they were all be racist towards white people and i dont see why u should stay in your own race and not go outside of it. You feel like a black man with a white woman is the wrong choice for him. that is completely wrong and i think u all need to choose your word more carefully next time you are going to be on a show where billions of people can see you

In responce to Shawna's comment. This an alarming example of the problems of self-image happening with the younger age groups. As adults we need to invest more time in building the self esteems of our children. But not only self esteem;-how about exceptance and love for others. Eg:Clearly in Shawna's comment there is an emphasis on her hair texture. She appeares to takes time to groom her self. We could say that she should improve her personality, however her personality is not what appears to attract this group of people, because when her hair is straight she then gets the looks and responses she wants. Which brings me to the point of exceptance and love for others. Children need to be taught to except others who are different as long as they are generaly desent. If you notice your child not treating another with decentcy because they are different. You should not let that go or look at it cute or an overwhelming issue to tackcle. Our children need us to be strong and guide them. YES they have the right to choose thier own friends. But being sexually selective or to exclude or demeen another child because they are not attracted to them should not be the goal of CHILDREN. We as adults need to take the responsiblity to show a different way of thinking, So that this racism and self hate does not continue. Then we won't have to have our young children seeing adults who grow up with some problems we should even have or diplay as adults. I SAY TO SHAWNA YOU CAN START LOOKING AT WHAT YOUR INTEREST REALY ARE IN LIFE AND CONTINUE TO KEEP YOUR SELF UP. YOU- CAN- DO THIS. PURSUE YOUR INTEREST AND HOBBIES OR DREAMS AND WATCH OTHERS TRY TO

First of TYRA IS SOOOOOOOOOO FAKE! I CANNOT BELIEVE PEOPLE CANNOT SEE THAT! People are so nieve! PEOPLES VIEWS OF BEING ON HER SHOW: She is a fake! I went to her show yesterday and I was just crushed to see how different she is once the cameras are off. I felt so deceited and wanted to get up in the middle of the show and leave ------------------------------------- So, I went to her show yesterday and I must say she IS beautiful and skinnier than she looks on TV. She didn't even say HI to the audience and had NO contact with us. When the cameras were on, she was so sweet and charming but once the cameras were off she had this stern face on and wouldn't talk to anyone. The same was with her guests...the camera was on..she was all sweet to them once the camera went off she IGNORED them once they tried to talk to her!!! ------------------------------ She never said ONE thing to the audience. When you watch the show, she looks like so much fun and as if she cares about her fans.I woke up at 4am to go to NY to see her, waited in the FREEZING studio basement 2hours. When the cameras were on she was the sweetest person ever..funny, interactive but when they were off she ignored everyone..even one of her guests. While the cams were on, she was hugging him, laughing, talking once the cams turned off she turned around and ignored him. ---------------------------------- I too was on the Tyra show..the one that just aired about plastic surgery nightmares!! I agree...the WHOLE thing was scripted! My story was NOT told!!! I was BARELY shown on the show as well because of the "nice" factor!! People BELIEVE Tyra is all sweet and
