For all of those (non-black women) commenting and saying that this show is "racist" and has no point, and saying that black women are "jealous" and all that crap, you are either really delusional or just plain ignorant. On the show they noted how black women have the highest self-esteem out of any race, which I beleive because anytime i'm around my white friends they're always whining about how "fat" they are...I try to tune out the negative nancys. When i'm with my black friends the dicussion rarely turns into a self-hate fest. We don't sit around discussing women of other races, we don't talk about Pam Anderson, we talk about what Halle Berry or Gabrielle Union is up to, because that's what interests us the most. No one wants to talk about how white women are getting lip injections and butt implants (two symbols of black beauty) to look more curvaceous, but everyone wants to cry foul when black women choose weaves, the only prevalent form of body modification among blacks. Everyone wants to claim that racism doesn't exist because no one has the balls to talk about race because ppl are uncomfortable talking about it, esp. the ppl who benefit the most from this societal imbalance. However I think the tables are turning, people are tired of the same old 20th century Christy Brinkley/ Cindy Crawford look, people want something that is more exotic/multicultural, so I say to all black, asian and hispanic females that our time in the spotlight has come! Find a man who will love you (lord knows I found mine!), and if he is too foolish to still be on that self-hate campaign, find someone who has some sense.

Tyra, I had a positive attitude and outlook until I saw your show today! gosh, what a downer I work in a mostly white environment and I felt embarrased that "others" watched this show. Of course black women already know these issues that we face in this society and now that you decided to air this we have to walk around with this stigma of being the lonely, unwanted black woman! which makes us all the more unappealing becuase no man wants a woman that no other man would want! and also miss supermodel Please give some credit to some of the most powerful men in hollywood who have black women: Will smith, denzel washington, forest whittaker, courtney vance, isaih washington, spike lee, blair underwood, samuel jackson, dwayne martin, doug christy, steve harvey, cedric the entertainer, snoop dog,jay z and there are many more I am sure. tyra please stop doing these shows that make us look so desperate and focus on the wonderful things that we black women bring to the table, those who always focus on what they don't have will always do without!

When I read comments below that talk about how black women are "racist" for giving white women with black men dirty looks...however just as was mentioned on the show it seems that a lot of white/other race women are "fetishizing" black men. In some cases it can be love, but several white women that I personally know and have observed specifically seek out black men for "other" reasons--like my 30-something co-worker who has a mixed son and fears that no white man will accept her son so she will hit up the nightclubs and black churches on the hunt to find another "father" for her son. I feel that other races are initially attracted to the stereotype of black men as being these powerful, sexual beings. Unfortunately, many blacks still have a slave mentality, this stems from the days when black males were emasculated and unable to care for their families, cauing the single-parent epidemic. Black men want some form of control back, but they feel intimidated by a black woman who has all their stuff together (educated, in good financial standing, refuses to be taken advantage of), so they feel that they can dominate a less vocal, "other" race woman better. We, as black men and women, need to change this and get over the "slave mentality" in order to save our community from dying out. I think that many blacks feel, as only 12% of the population (with whites making up about 68%), if blacks start intermarrying with whites at high rates then the African-American race and culture will disappear and be a distant memory of the past. It becomes alarming when we hear stats like "73% of interracial marriages involve a black male." We need to raise our (black) sons to appreciate black beauty and their own

As a blackwoman I am often told by black men that I seem freindly, happy and approachable and they find it rare in black women. When I heard a few black men say things like this I started to take notice of the attitudes of black women and I have to admit that even for me approaching another black woman in a freindly way is hard because there are quite a few of us black women that have a bit of an attitude problem. I can imagine how hard it may be for a black man or any man to approach them without fearing getting their hearts ripped out! I'm sorry to my fellow black women and this is not "ALL" black women but we must admit to ourselves that we all have 1 or more girlfreinds who has that mentality of wanting to hurt men or being angry at men becuase of their past hurts. My point is that I am a black woman who doesn't fit the standard that we say that black men prefer I am a brown skin woman with dreadloc's but when I go to the gym or just out and about I get "hello's" and "you look nice today" and black men approach me because I often have a smile on my face or just a happy demeanor. Of course I know that all men have been brained washed into thinking that he european standard is the best standard of bueaty I recently read somewhere that the 2 things that attract all men is a woman who is aproachable and confident and I strongly believe that if you meet these two standards then it brings out your physical beauty. Love yourselves black women and find that inner peace and it will shine through and everyone

Hi Tyra I’m writing this comment in response to your show today about blackmen/woman relationships. I too would like the answer to the question “what’s really going on?” Here's a little of my story. I relocated to Vegas from Hawaii in 2004. Before that time I was happily dating a variety of very strong handsome well educated and eligible black men, many were in the military but some were civilians. Now fast forward to 2008 and I’m sad to admit, since moving here I can‘t get a date! If you are looking to prove your theory that more than 70% of inter-racial relations involve black men and white women just come to Vegas where that theory is not only proven but played out daily live and in color (no pun intended). I was always told that I am beautiful talented successful etc....so just imagine having all that and being over looked, unacknowledged, ignored almost as if I were invisible not only by black men I would like to date but even by some who I wouldn’t even consider dating, yes it’s that deep. Recently however because I am creative, determined and extremely optimistic I’ve come up with a possible solution…….. I think I’ll start dating African brothas:-) Enjoyed your show. Keep up the good work!

I WATCHED YOUR SHOW TODAY ABOUT BLACK WOMEN HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING BLACK MEN. I WAS A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR WHEN I MET MY HUSBAND OF 15 YRS. AND HE WAS A FORMER POLICE OFFICER AND ARMY MAN. AS A 'WHITE' WOMAN I TOO CAN SAY THAT 'ALL' RACES OF WOMEN HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING A GOOD MAN - PERIOD!! I PRAYED THAT GOD WOULD SEND ME A 'GOOD MAN' - I DIDN'T ASK FOR BLACK, WHITE, RED OR INDIFFERENT - I ONLY ASKED FOR A 'GOOD MAN'. I MET HIM WHEN I WAS 42 YRS. OLD AND I DIDN'T REALLY CARE IF I GOT REMARRIED AFTER BEING CHEATED ON BY ALL DIFFERENT MEN. HERE IS MY ISSUE WITH THE SUBJECT: 'WHY DO BLACK WOMEN THINK THAT WHITE WOMEN ARE TAKING THEIR MEN'. FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, I SAW BLACK WOMEN BOSS THEIR 'GOOD' MEN RIGHT INTO THE ARMS OF SOMEONE WHO TREATED THEM AS AN EQUAL PARTNER. I'M NOT SAYING THAT 'WHITE' WOMAN CAN'T AND DON'T STAND THEIR GROUND - I CERTAINLY DO BUT I WAS RAISED TO HONOR YOUR HUSBAND. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY BLACK MEN THAT THEY LOVE THEIR BLACK MAMA'S BUT NOT THE BLACK WOMEN OF TODAY AND HOW THEY WANT TO 'GET THEIRS'!! I GET TIRED OF BLACK WOMEN LOOKING AT ME AS IF I TOOK ONE OF THEIR MEN. WHAT MAKES THEM THINK THAT HE WOULD BE WITH THEM IF HE WASN'T WITH ME?? I CAN (AND HAVE HAD TO), MAKE MY POINT TO ANOTHER BLACK WOMEN BY SAYING, 'EXCUSE ME??', AFTER THEY MADE A RACIAL COMMENT, ETC. I AM NOT A 'WEAK WHITE WOMAN' AS WE ARE LABELED BY BLACK WOMEN. I AM NOT - NOR HAVE I EVER LIVED IN TRAILER PARK! I AM A WELL EDUCATED WOMAN WHO

I really love your show Tyra But something that was said on your show really bothered me. When one of the women said "stick to you own people" To the black men... I felt... is this sort of comment not racist ? I see alot of this on tv when this topic is brought up. ( black men going to white women) I understand that there has been so much racism but I almost see these type of comment as continuing the racism in our world. I myself am White but I don't fear to admit I find black men alot more attractive then white men. I myself think black people are so much more beautiful then any different color of skin. But.. If I was to ever be with a black man I would fear black women judging me for that one comment by the women who I saw on your show today. Its not just black people who expirance rasim. I know it is a heated topic for a lot of people But I just had to point this out.

Tyra, I am the product of an interacial couple my mom is black my dad was white. I am smart outgoing and for the most part happy. I am a black woman by experience in life and could not even see it any other way, but for all my open mindedness I can feel the sting of seeing a white woman with a black man...you should be with who ever you are with for love, but I am not going to tell you when I see a black man who will not even look at a sista it really upsets me...I live in Las Vegas now and its almost like when your out they will knock you down to talk to the white woman its sad. I wonder all the time am I going to be that woman who has to have kids without a man because for me i would rather make the choice then end up somebodies "babymama" I think we as black women have to start making these choices if you r going to do it alone then maybe it should be on your terms...

Tyra, I feel that we as a people focus too much on color. Don't get me wrong, I love being a black, I embrace it. I believe we are a strong people and it is something to be proud of. However, the more we focus on it, the more we hold ourselves back. Often, we use the fact that we are black as an excuse. Its the reason sthat we can't jobs, a good man, etc. We need to prove ourselves far beyond the color of our skin. Don't forget where we've come from, but don't use it as an excuse either. About our hair, I think we blessed to have the hair we do.We can do whatever we want . We can wear a weave , locks, or afros and look beautiful. I think we should focus on our own individual beauty. If you like how you look in a weave, wear one. Don't let others influence how you feel about yourself. That's all for now, Miis Monet p.s. I admire you, Tyra, for your accomplishments!

Well Hello Tyra, I have watched your show today and I was in disagreement with some of the sayings about black men. I am a black man in my 50's, and I am single, and what I am finding out is that alot of black woman really don't want a hard working black man like myself. I don't make alot of money, I make about 30,000.00 a year and I have never been to prison, but I did Have a drug problem but I am in recovery and I have 2and1/2 years sober and clean. These are not attributes that most black woman are looking for. I feel that black woman are looking for a black man that is making $75,000.00 a year or more, a black man who is intellegent, a black man who wears a suit and tie every day to work and buy them flowers every friday and can pay bills and have money left over. Well I am a intellegent black man and I am in the process of rebuilding my life, and some times I wish that I could meet and be with a black woman who has the same ambitions that I do and could meet me half way; When I talk to a succesful black woman and share my situation they seem to shy away or act like they are not interested in me as a man that has made some misstakes in his life sometimes can be discouraged and dissapointed in black woman. I am a good man, and I truely love my beautiful black woman, I see them all as queens and I treat them as such wither they with me or not, wither they make big money or on welfare I see them as queens of the earth and I

Tyra, I watchedd your show today because it peaked my interest. I have some advice for black women. 1) Understand that finding a good mate is not necessarily about the good attributes only, but can you deal with the short commings of your partner. 2) Never start anything in a dating relationship that you don't plan to continue if it gets more serious. (Ex: If you cook 3 days a week for him, he will expect that even if you get married). In other words be true to him and yourself. 3) Don't settle for anyone, but don't set your standards unreasonabaly high. write down attributes you want in a man and review them to see which ones you must have and which ones you can work with bending. 4) Last don't be too easy. Make him work for you. In the old days young men had to go to a girl's house and meet the family. He had to put in some work. The modern young girl is out in the streets with the guy. Where is the work and the challenge?

I was born and raised in the Carribbean and came to this country when I first joined the Air Force. Our black men in the island adorded us when I was back home and treated us like the queens that we are. I am married to a wonderful black Island man that I met when I was still back home. I never felt what the black women in this country are feeling with black men not being interested in them because I was already very happily married when I came up to this country. But in my career in the Air Force (which has a much higher percentage of whites) I work with a small percent of black women. I must say that the young black men (ages 18-24) that I worked with were mostly interested in the young black women. Most of these black girls would not give those guys the time of day because they didn't make enough money, even though these guys were the same rank as them and made the exact same amount of money. Most of those black women were also the loudest women in the squadron, they will tell you off at the drop of a dime. I didn't observe that behavior in too many women of other races. Another observation was that most of the older black men (ages 29-40)I came in contact with in the Air Force are married to women of different races (go figure). Another observation was the way my middle school son is treated. We live a city now with about a 5% black population. The black girls in my son's class are the ones that are calling him names and treating him badly constantly yelling at him, he doesn't have this problem with girls of different races. Every

I think it would be interesting to look at the similarities between black and white women. You had a black woman on your show with a beautiful short hair cut, talking about long hair and weaves. I think it would be interesting to look at a black and a white woman with similar hair styles. (A black and a white woman with long hair, weave or natural. A black and a white woman with a similar short cuts.) See how both races roll out of bed and have to comb and style their hair. Look at how both races have to sit in a salon chair to add color, or even cover their grey. It is a misconception that white women have perfect, carefree hair. I have traveled with white woman who carry so much cosmetics and hair care products that they need a separate suitecase! I have had white women request to watch me braid, curl, sew my hair... they tell me how they wish their hair could do the things mine can. I get a relaxer and my hair moves like theirs. I want curls, I go shopping. If I hate my new hair cut, I don't have to wait for it to grow out. Black hair can do everything white hair can, and more... As far as blonde hair goes, white women dye their hair, too. Don't be mad if a dark chocolate beauty rocks her "Goldie Locks" better than you. No race is entitled to a particular hair color. Even if they were, black women come in all colors, shapes, and sizes naturally. I know black women who have naturally blonde hair. My sister's hair has a different skin color, facail structure, and curl pattern (and yes, we have the same parents). If any race can
