In honor of Memorial Day, I'd like to memorialize the Top Ten Dating Tips I've ever received. Here's some awesome advice for making this your summer of love.

• Stash some sexy undies in the front of your drawer. Hide your granny panties in the back (or better yet, the trash).
- Corrinne, my co-worker. She seduced a world-famous baseball player, so girlfriend knows what she's talking about.

• No free samples.
- My grandmother's advice to my mom before her first date.

• When you can get some action, go for it! Don't think too much, just do it.
- My friend Linda, who believes in free samples!

• Don't get too skinny. You'll make a beautiful corpse, but men prefer women with meat on their bones.
- My great-grandmother, who obviously never had to go bikini shopping.

• When in doubt, join a men's bereavement group.
- My pal Brian, on the best place to meet guys.

• Love is never enough; you need trust, friendship, laughter and patience. Real love allows you to retain your individuality.
- My fairy godmother Lin and my parents giving me some pointers.

• More smile. Less skirt.
- My friend Dan, who never met a pair of legs he didn't like.

• Give your heart only to someone with whom you have a past and can see in your future - the heat of the present can be quite deceptive.
- My wise Auntie Jen.

• No, I won't hug you, Carrie. You have to hug yourself first.
- My roommate Eddie, reminding me that I should never depend on a man for my happiness. Or my hugs.

• Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, and know when to run.
- Kenny Rogers. Yes, he was talking about some gambler on a train...but aren't we all taking a chance on the old train of love? Plus I think Kenny would want the best for my dating life.

Now it's your turn! Please share your favorite dating tips with Tyra and her readers below. Thanks so much, your comments are incredibly insightful and appreciated. Cheers to a fun, fabulous and fierce summer!

haha i love how someone posts asking questions about cars? hunny, this is about love and relationships...not machine shop

Be mindful of what you ask, it could determine how he'll view you. Instead of asking: "What kind of woman do you want?" Ask: "What kind of woman do you RESPECT?"

It tells him you're selective and it inspires his interest. What we respect isn't always what follows are IMMEDIATE desires...and men understand that...

Tyra,

This guy and I have been talking for about 2 months now. But we only get to see each other on the weekends because we both work. But everytime I am with him, I just feel like a whole nother person. He makes me feel so good. But see the thing is that when i asked him for a relationship he told me he wasnt ready and that he just got out of a long relationship, but he said maybe in time he could see it. But my question is, do you think he is just using me to get some? Does he really want a relationship? Should I stay around and wait or should I just forget about him and move on? I need help!

Thanks

Hello All! I have two situations: first me and my long-time off and on beau. Paul and I met two summers ago and he was head over heels for me! Although my reaction wasn't as instant, I became more attracted to him because he was so excited about me. We chit-chated for a few weeks. But over the weeks his interest lessen :/ As a result I begin to b!tc#,longing for his attention. He ended up kicking me to the curb for becoming a pain in the neck. And I have been wanted him to come back ever since. With our two year anniversary coming I was considering giving him an ultimatum: NOW or NEVER! I really care about him and I see a long future for us Im fearful that I wont get the answer I want. Plus, I didn't want to be the one to pursue him I wanted him to come for me but shucks Im tired of waiting?!!.....

Second situation: My best bud of five years is a beautiful thick woman like myself. But, unlike me, she doesn't have a great sense of style. Whenever we go out I always want to pick her up so I can "approve" her outfit. How can I get her to rev up her style without hurting her feelings?!

Sincerely Sasha C.

Tyra,
I'm refurbishing a 1968 Mustang with a 302-V8 engine, but thinking about dropping in a 428 Cobra engine instead. What should I do?

How about some tips for the older ladies 50 +. It seems like men are still looking for the 25 year olds but they forget to look in the mirror and see they too have aged.

one on top. I think it depends on how your friends feels. I'm from a small town and honestly if you can't date your friends ex you might not date.
