Tyra sends a message to Richard's community, reminding them that just as they face prejudice for being black and Latino, it's wrong to attack Richard for being gay.

Tyra, My daughter Brooklynn is a beautiful young lady both inside and out. At age 17 she has really seen more than her fair share of prejudice and self destruction. She is mixed and I truly thought that the problems would be worse from whites. "I'm white, I've heard it all." But I was shocked when she began to come home in tears because of the hate about her skin color or hair length began to spew from her black class mates. She started to fail, fought constantly, always suspended and angry. I've always taught her to be kind and love everyone. So I had to change our lives. I married A wonderful man who is a great role model for her. I moved her into a cleaner neighborhood with a more mixed population and now she has passed all of her graduation exams in the tenth grade. She is on student council, she's a peer mediator,A member of harmony " a diversity group". She is in two choirs and received a certificate of appreciation from the red cross for all of her help. Through it all you have also been a fantastic role model for her. I want everyone who has gone through any form of prejudice to know that you will overcome! You will be greater Than your hater!

Dear Tyra, First of all let me say, you are just so amazing. I don't know how you could handle everything that is going on in your life. I watch your show everyday and I even make my family watch it to. It is such an inspiration to me, being only 14 I've learned alot just by watching your television show. Honestly, you are my role model and I pretty much live my life by you. I hope one day to meet you.

Dear Tyra, My name is Mara Daniele, and I'm 11 yrs.old.I'm from Memphis Tennessee! I've always wanted to be a model like on America's Next Top Model! But evryone is saying you're too young! I've worked so hard all my life through so many things that I can do modeling and I can be FIERCE! I know modeling is very hard but nothing is too hard for me and I was just throwing out a suggestion on America's Next Top Model juniors! Because I want to be a model! Very badly and I will work 110% as hard as all the older girls on americas next top model! I'm very tired of being backed down because of my age! I'm tall for my age too! I'm 5'4. I was thinking it would be for kids not old enough to be on america's next top model. like 11-17! Because I'm tired of just being catolouge cute, I want to be high fashion, or at leats learn how to be! Please take this message to heart and think about it, Love, Mara

relating the struggles of homosexuals to race struggles is a perfect way to put people in someone else's shoes. there may be some people who have values, which may in fact be against homosexuality, and i have no problem with any of these people. the point, however, is that if you disagree with homosexuality and homosexuals, don't be one! it's as simple as that. i have no doubts you and i have both walked past people who are homosexuals without even knowing it, and they appear as normal people, just like they are. all in all, homosexuals are not hurting anybody by doing what they are doing, and for having tho confidence to be different and embrace and follow what you believe in, i applaud them

hi tyra, i just wanted to say thanks for talking about things that others wont. i am a 19 year old bisexual girl and i have a lot of gay friends who dont feel accepted, i am lucky enough to never have gone through an harassment but i feel for those who do, everyone is different and i cant wait until we have a world that accepts everyone for who they are

oh my god tyra u just don't know before I comment let me first say that I am a 21 hetereosexual female but I accept people for who they are but when I heard richard say that he wishes that he wasn't that way made me wanna cry and it pissed me off I had just recently had this conversation with my coworkers where I was telling them that being gay and being a lesbian is not always a choice there is scientific proof that there is a difference in brain there are all other studies that shows that is scientific and not always a choice and even if people are choosing it is there damn choice leave them the hell alone and let them live there lifes I'm so tired of defending gays and lesbians because of who they choose to love especially to black people who have been discriminated on since they arrived here and now there doing the same thing I especially hate when people refer to the bible but I don't see them discriminating on people having sex before marriage or committing adultry this world is so judgemental if everybody would just worry about themselves maybe it would be a better place to live in

Kuddos Tyra, I've always been a big fan of yours but you just continue to grow and evolve and it's truly a blessing to witness. As an adult, professional gay male, this story brought back a flood of emotions. A very important topic that needs further exposure. I was also very impressed with the work that Morgan Jourdan is doing. Perhaps you could list a few resources for people like myself that would truly like to become actively involved in mentoring our young brothers and sisters. Where to start?

Tyra, Thank you for saying that about the people who are gay or just trying to figer out who they like male, female or both. I support you all the way. Love Chelsey

Dear Tyra, This that your doing off gay people was GREAT i have always seen gay, lesbian people the exact same way like YOU said 'THey also are human beings!' && its so true && it bothers me how being gay and stuff will hurt you along your life cause some people CAN'T tolorate gay people BUTT there just like everyone elseee. thank you tyraaa..

i love this show.....keep on keeping it real tyra

trya thank you for doing this show. is it possible that we show a different side to the gay community. so often in the media the protrayal is very one sided. generally depicting those with more of female qualities. I think that if people saw that there is a range this problem would not be as great
