Tyra sends a message to Richard's community, reminding them that just as they face prejudice for being black and Latino, it's wrong to attack Richard for being gay.

ih love the show

HEY TYRA! I try to watch the show every day! Today's show really touched my heart! I have quite a few gay friends and even in the small town where I am from they are scared to come out. They always feel like they have to hide behind this fave exterior. I LOVE everyone for who they are not their sexuality! I love that you are sooooo open minded...that is how we have to be these days! I am sorry, I forgot her name but the girl you had on the show that was a 16 year old prostitue really got to me...I wish I was in a place where I could take her in and show her a better way! There is so much more to life than the streets and prostitution and for her family to leave her because she is transexual is outrageous to me...how could her mother leave the child she gave birth to? I thank god every day for my famuly and friends...and I hope one day I can help someone like my family and friends have helped me along the way!

hey dominique, im glad you watched the show and obiously you know how that feels. so hit me up and tell me what you think!

Hiii Tyra I love ur show, and I want to say that u are honestly an inspiration to evryone around the world. And yes I am gay.. and the message that u send out the world is so great... because I myself been subject to racism and also prejudice and therefore I wish to say to people who beleive that being gay is a choice.. well it isnt... its a fact of life you have to live with everyday and beleive me when I say that its hard... so to all those haters try and walk in our shoe for one day and try and feel what we feel and therefore try and realise that why you people need to be more compassionate rather than being more discriminatory.Period.

IM TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP TYRA I JUST GOT HOME FORM WORK. ALSO A PROFESSIONAL BLACK GAY MALE. TO a·non·y·mous –adjective 1. without any name acknowledged, as that of author, contributor, or the like: FORGIVE ME I DONT MEAN TO CAUSE CONFUSION BUT IT SEEMS THAT WE HAVE AN ISSUE THAT WILL FOREVER BE ONGOING. SOMETIMES I TRY TO KEEP IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE, A RAP ARTIST SAYS "YOU DO YOU, WATCH ME DO ME". IF YOU AS A PERSON DOES NOT AGREE WITH SOMETHING THEN YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IT. READING YOUR COMMENT AND LOOKING BEYOND YOUR BIG WORDS WHAT MESSAGE DID YOU SEND. AS A GAY MALE I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS. FOR THE DL MAN THAT LIVES NEXT DOOR, OR THE MAN THAT YOU PLAY BASKETBALL WITH AS LONG AS THEY KEEP IT TO THEMSLEVES THEN ITS NOT A PROBLEM. I TELL U THIS IM GAY AND PROUD AND I WONT HIDE IT SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE COMFORTABLE. LETS REMEBER WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH, SOME SAY WORLD PEACE SOME ARE NOT SURE, BUT SINCE WE MENTION THE CONSTITUTION I THINK THAT I WANT LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS. GAY OR STRAIGH

In response to Tammy B, its not that Tyra has a problem with white people! What you and all of America needs to realize is that we as a poeple (black & latinos) and Tyra as a black women; we have to magnify who we are. For years we have been told that we were no more than the grounds we walk on . Please dont take our awareness and our understanding that we are more than what we have been told. Because we are knowledable now people beleive that we are raciest or prejudice or judgemental. THATS NOT THE CASE, WAKE UP.

Dear Tyra, It is important to bring awareness to these issues. I do disagree with you when addressing the black/latino communities and feel that in a way you celebrate and condone this lifestyle. I too am in a professional field with a slew of gay men and have learned their personal stories. No one can ever equate the struggles of black and brown people to the struggle of being gay. They have not been denied basic human rights and frankly can keep it to themselves. I do believe many are born but many choose it due to reasons beyond their control. Like, sexual and mental abuse, poverty etc... Where poverty exists so do many other social ills. i.e., educational disenfranchisement, no parental guidance and no proper male/female socialization. They should not be beaten, tormented or killed but I question a thing when it does not operate the way God intends people to operate. Gays can not procreate, and animals do not pair with the same sex animals. We should look to nature to observe what works and what doesn't work in God's creation. I do pray that people become more civil to their basic human rights but as their rights grow other who want normalcy go...

i love your show and all but i really don't agree with the way you handle the gay issues.... being discrimated against is wrong i agree but being gay isn't right. i truly believe is a state of mind and people need to be talked to and not encourage and u r in da right position to do so, don't waste it
