Tyra sends a message to Richard's community, reminding them that just as they face prejudice for being black and Latino, it's wrong to attack Richard for being gay.

Like if people are judging you just because you are gay, that's just selfish of them. They may be gay and all, but they are still like everybody else. They go to school, they have jobs, they are still human beings. If you believe in being gay, then don't worry about what other people say.

I BELIEVE THAT NO MATTER WHATS YOUR BELIEFS AND OUT TAKES OF LIFE.YOU ARE STILL A HUMAN BEING.NO ONE CAN JUDGE BUT THE MAN ABOVE.I PERSONALLY DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH HOMOSEXUALS..I BELIEVE IF THATS WHAT YOU STAND AND BELIEVE IN GO FOR IT..I LOVE THE GAYS....WORK IT BABY

Well tyra really made a point people just dont understanD her and took it the wrong way.

I don't think people (really)listened to what Tyra said. She did not equate racial prejuidice to that of the discrimination that gays face. She pleaded with people of color, specifically blacks and browns, to remember how it feels to be mistreated just because of their skin color. The short of it is, she was asking for empathy instead of letting fear and ignorance lead them to do/speak negatively toward Richard or anyone like him.

Hey Tyra, I record your show everyday,I work nights and the time to catch up on your shows is 3:00 in the mourning. Todays show really touched me. I have always been a strong supporter of the gay community. My Mother is bi-sexual, and after tweleve years of her boyfriends abuse to my brother and I, and our mother, her girlfriend was the one that gave her the strength to leave him. If you ask my friends what bar I want to go to its usually a gay one. Another issue I wanted to touch on was Benny Ninjas story, how he couldnt gain acceptance from most of his peers and teachers in school. I had the same problem with my school. I graduated from a "rich cookie cutter" school and my best friend was going through a custody battle with her parents. In the 9th grade she had to switch school districts and leave the friends she saw everyday since kindergarden. she was really upset. So i told her that i would take her to my senior prom so she could see her friends one last time before we headed off to college for our "reality check". Four years later i had kept my promise, except when I tried to buy my prom ticket, my high school refused my prom ticket becuase I was taking the same sex to prom; "and it was on the rule sheet that, they handed out before prom, that you could not take the same sex to prom". I was so upset, i wrote a letter to the administrative building about this discriminative rule. long story short, nothing was done about it. I have been a out of high school for five years and this memory still frustrates me. I think we need to
