Everyone knows Randy Jackson as the judge on American Idol with a Grammy-winning past. But his new role may be his most important yet. Randy is a spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s The Heart of Diabetes campaign and is helping people understand the dangers of the disease. Five years ago Randy was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, becoming one of 21 million Americans suffering from the disease. His diagnosis kick-started his decision to get healthy and lose weight. He had gastric bypass surgery and lost more than 100 pounds and his diabetes is now manageable.
