MESSAGE FROM TYRA: What's Up with the Vaseline?

Hi Everybody,

I had a ball giving away that bejeweled VASELINE on the show! I really have used it since I was a little girl, and my mom is addicted to it too. I hope you all got my joke when I was acting all crazy. I was acting all high energy and super excited about the VASELINE giveaway because I was spoofing the time Oprah gave away cars on her show a few years ago. In fact, I actually studied that Oprah episode and copied her body movements and phrases she used, exactly like she did them. But a spoof wouldn't be a spoof without a little (or a lot) of exaggeration, so I had to be over the top with it. If you noticed, we put my VASELINE jar on a key chain to push the Oprah car spoof up one extra notch. It was soooooo much fun. I made sure my office called Oprah's office to make sure they knew it was all in fun. I love Oprah, and she has a great sense of humor and I wanted to make sure she knew the spoof was all in love. She's my idol. I actually pay MAJOR homage to Oprah on "America's Next Top Model" this season. It's coming up so you have to watch "Top Model" to see what I do. It's a lot of love, mixed with a lil' bit of spoof, done in that campy way we do things on "Top Model."

But getting back to the Vaseline. Years ago, Vaseline heard I was a fan of the product, and they sent me a bling bling jar of the product. I loved that hot little jar of Vaseline and wanted to share that with my audience. Each jar I gave to the studio audience was worth $100. I know that's a whole lotta money for some Vaseline, but it's because they were all hand beaded with Swarovski crystals. But underneath all that bling is just a regular jar of Vaseline that you can get at the drugstore or in your own medicine cabinet. I have been reading your messages and a lot of you are concerned that putting Vaseline on your face is not the best thing to do. I have very dry skin, so Vaseline is great for the skin on my face. But if you have oily or acne prone skin, you should probably keep the 'LINE (nickname for Vaseline - pronounced "LEENE") off of your face.

Today, my feet were really ashy, and I put some Vaseline on them before I put my socks on. I just got home. (I went to the movies today to see CRANK. That movie ROCKED. It was sooooo good. It was really violent though and has some sexual stuff that is too strong for the young'uns out there. So I am NOT recommending that people under 18 years old see it! That Jason Stratham - star of the flick - is one sexy dude.) But anyway, I came home from the movies and took my socks off and my feet were ash free. They were glowing!!! Vaseline came to the rescue!!!

I wanna thank all of you for all of your tips on how to get rid of my rough hands. I am trying your advice. I tried the tip today that one of you gave me that involves baking soda. My hands are soft, Soft, SOFT! I'm going to keep trying the tips. Thanks everybody!!!

Tyra i think u did a good job with the vaseline and i think it's cute, also u r so pretty and i love to use vaseline cuz it hepls my lips stay moist.

Hi tyra i know you read this, cuz u said so on your show, "I read all your'e messages, even though ya'll can be mean"...lol... anyway haha u made me laugh when u went all OPrah, but i like how u blinged up the vaseline jar,warning to all these people who use vasline: dont put too much on ur eye, i did that once, and in the morning my eyes lookd so different, PUFFY looking

Hey, I love your show i think i might be behind alot of people though because i live in uk (liverpool). i mean it im saving up any money i get because i am going to come to america and see your show if its the last thing i ever do!i always watch your show you have helped me with a few things i couldn't even talk 2 my mum about i can deal with a few things better now so thankyou!! also just wanted to say i am addicted to vaseline too! especially the one with aloe vera !!!

Love your show and almost fell off my chair when you went "crazy" with the vaseline. I'm just wondering, should a "white girl" would a "white girl" get the same benefits by using the vaseline?

Unfortunately, I missed the vaseline show but have heard a lot about it. I have combination skin that breaks out occationally, mainly in the T tone. Would vaseline still help or will it clog up my pores? I've used it on my hands and feet and it works great. Tyra, your face is flawless and I love that look. What should I use if my face is break out prone?

Hey,tyra im a guy and i watched your show online but i have really dry skin and lotion doesn't seem to do the trick, and my girlfriend is always complaining about how dry my skin is and vaseline really works cause im always ashy on my kneew and elbows and nothing helped but thanks for sharing your secret!! love you Tyra!!!

Hey Tyra, I loved your show where you shared your face cleansing techniques. Can you tell me where to find the Shu Uemura Skin Purifier and the Aveda Hydrating Lotion? I take it Walmart doesn't sell these products!!! Can you suggest any equivalent products that might be a little cheaper? By the way, I am going to try your ultimate beauty tip (Vasaline). Tyra when you gave away the vaseline and acted wild and crazy that gave me my laugh for the day. I pretty sure Oprah laughed also. I love that you idolize Oprah because she is an idol of mine, along with you and Beyonce. Tyra stay being you and disregard all the negative comments anyone has to say. You are a beautiful person inside and out. Continue to do what you are doing and only let God judge you, he is the only with that power. Keep your head up. Love ya!

Hey Tyra, I just love your show!!!! When I send the "bling-bling" vaseline on a keychain, that was really cool. I actually thought that it could be purchased like that, and maybe it was a promotional item for them. It surely was a disappointment to know that I couldn't get it. )-: Anyways, keep up the AWESOMEEEE work. You're the best!!!!

Hi Tyra, in watching your show on Thurs. the 12th, I must say I disagree with one of the comments you made when talking with the woman who stated homosexuals would go to hell. You said you gave her an opportunity to answer your questions, but to me you didn't. You just cut her off. To me you had your own view and didn't want to hear hers. I do agree with her to a certain point in that "sin" will cause you to go to hell. Bottom line is, if you don't accept Christ as your lord and savior and live a life style according to His commandments your sin will doom you.

hi T.imagine at the age of 24 i still prefer vaseline on my whole body including the face.it surely is a wonder product,am a proof of reality as many envy my smooth skin. Love yah.
