Hi Everybody,

I had a ball giving away that bejeweled VASELINE on the show! I really have used it since I was a little girl, and my mom is addicted to it too. I hope you all got my joke when I was acting all crazy. I was acting all high energy and super excited about the VASELINE giveaway because I was spoofing the time Oprah gave away cars on her show a few years ago. In fact, I actually studied that Oprah episode and copied her body movements and phrases she used, exactly like she did them. But a spoof wouldn't be a spoof without a little (or a lot) of exaggeration, so I had to be over the top with it. If you noticed, we put my VASELINE jar on a key chain to push the Oprah car spoof up one extra notch. It was soooooo much fun. I made sure my office called Oprah's office to make sure they knew it was all in fun. I love Oprah, and she has a great sense of humor and I wanted to make sure she knew the spoof was all in love. She's my idol. I actually pay MAJOR homage to Oprah on "America's Next Top Model" this season. It's coming up so you have to watch "Top Model" to see what I do. It's a lot of love, mixed with a lil' bit of spoof, done in that campy way we do things on "Top Model."

But getting back to the Vaseline. Years ago, Vaseline heard I was a fan of the product, and they sent me a bling bling jar of the product. I loved that hot little jar of Vaseline and wanted to share that with my audience. Each jar I gave to the studio audience was worth $100. I know that's a whole lotta money for some Vaseline, but it's because they were all hand beaded with Swarovski crystals. But underneath all that bling is just a regular jar of Vaseline that you can get at the drugstore or in your own medicine cabinet. I have been reading your messages and a lot of you are concerned that putting Vaseline on your face is not the best thing to do. I have very dry skin, so Vaseline is great for the skin on my face. But if you have oily or acne prone skin, you should probably keep the 'LINE (nickname for Vaseline - pronounced "LEENE") off of your face.

Today, my feet were really ashy, and I put some Vaseline on them before I put my socks on. I just got home. (I went to the movies today to see CRANK. That movie ROCKED. It was sooooo good. It was really violent though and has some sexual stuff that is too strong for the young'uns out there. So I am NOT recommending that people under 18 years old see it! That Jason Stratham - star of the flick - is one sexy dude.) But anyway, I came home from the movies and took my socks off and my feet were ash free. They were glowing!!! Vaseline came to the rescue!!!

I wanna thank all of you for all of your tips on how to get rid of my rough hands. I am trying your advice. I tried the tip today that one of you gave me that involves baking soda. My hands are soft, Soft, SOFT! I'm going to keep trying the tips. Thanks everybody!!!

Much Love,

Tyra, You are doing an amazing job. I would love to find out how I can get my hands on the bejeweled Vaseling jar? I loved the spoof. Take care and God Bless!

What does putting vaseline around your eyes do? Does it get rid of wrinkles? Is there anything short of surgery you can do to get rid of wrinkles?????? Can vaseline be worn during the day?

This is so cool. My mom says that using vaseline makes ur hands super soft. Now I'm going to buy some. Thanks for all your shows. Your show is the best!!!

i ♥ Vaseline..it smells funky though..

Hey Tyra! It may be the show where you had the vaseline give away that made me stick up for you the other day. Someone said that you were a wanna be Oprah and I snapped back so fast, this girl must have thought I was your little sister or something. I just can't stand the one's who like to knock a person down while their up.

Tyra, My grandmother just passed away last year at the ripe age of 78 and she used Vaseline RELIGIOUSLY for years and YEARS on her face and EVERYTHING... I have you to know, NO ONE, and i do mean NO ONE ever believed she was her age...she had NO wrinkles and had the softest skin EVER (hands, face, etc).... so YES, yall are on to something!! I saw the 78 year proof!! :)

THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! LINE IS IT!!! GROWING UP MY MOM USED VASELINE ON MY XTRA DRY SKIN, SHE USED IT AS HAIR GREASE, FOR PROTECTION AROUND THE HAIRLINE AND EARS WHEN WE GOT PERMS. I USED IT AS LIP GLOSS (OH YES HAD TO HAVE GLOSSY LIPS)I EVEN USED IT ON MY FACE THE VERY FEW TIMES I HAD TO ENGAGE IN A "BEAT DOWN" THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK OLD MEMORIES TYRA AND REMINDING ME WHY I ALWAYS KEEP VASELINE IN THE HOUSE. XOXOXO, TALAYA

Tyra! I watched Thursday's show on homeless people & cried the entire time. Im not homeless but I have a harden heart to them due to some panhandlers faking it...u know...the "will work for food" signs. I offered a person wk & they preferred begging on more than 1 occassion. That tainted my view on homeless people. But thanks for renewing my mind & softening my heart to helping again. I love u & the shows...PS..Can u send me your empty bejewel vaseline container so I can refill it. Love that container. God Bless..see u later!

Yep we call Vasline (and I hope no one take offense casue it's all in fun) Negro-sporin cause in our family we use it for everything!

Hi Tyra!!!!! I had no idea why you were acting so crazy on that episode. This really helped A LOT!! I can't watch Oprah because I have to go to school. Ok then. Bye!

Dear Tyra, I watch your show everyday and I would like you to know that you've changed me in some way. When I fill really crappy in the morning I just turn on your T.V. show and some how I fill better.I think it is really nice you give people makeovers when they need that lift in their life.If you so happen to read this I would like you to know, that my momma really needs a makeover. Why you may ask well for starters she has 2 kids me and my brother, she has a loving husband, and a wonderful family. She gets up every morning bright and early and goes to work then she works long hours their. Well to make along story short she does everything she possibly can to make her family. So if you could take a few minutes to look over this and just give her a shout out on T.V. it would mean alot to me and her.Oh and also her name in Ann. Thanks for everything, Kathy Smith Talladega,Alabama

i like that vaseline design but i love your show is my favorite

you were incredibly funny that episode! i love it when u act crazy!

Hey Tyra...I too am a fan of Vaseline. I use it on my face, feet, hands, elbows and knees at night. Even though I look all greasy and shiny, like I've been standing over some greasy spoon's grill all day, I know that it's not clogging my pores, since it's non-comedogenic. I absolutely love it! I feel so pampered when I lay in bed at night, I know it's making my skin baby-smooth. And what's amazing, is it's trailer-cheap!

Dear Tyra, I wanted to extend a big congrats on the success of your show. I didn't really know anything about you, but when I heard you were coming out with a show I was doubtful. I am glad I was wrong! I wish you the best!!! I am really busy so I can only catch an occasional show. I read your journal concerning your hands. I have the same problem and have always had a complex about them. When I was little I was always teased in school about my hands and used to put glue on them and let it dry. So it wouldn't look like my hands looked so bad. Anyway, what I used to do once I got older was the Vaseline trick, which I am a big fan of Vaseline myself. You grease up your hands really good at night and cover them with plastic gloves, not the powdery ones. Then in the morning they feel great and just keep them moisturized with lotion throughout your day. I am going to be 30 in a few days and last year I am just now discovering Jergens lotion. Lotions have never worked for me before, they would work for an hour and then I would be dry and ashy by the end of the day. I found Jergens lotion works really good. The vaseline does work, my husband is a construction worker and in the winter his hands CUT ME UP, so I had to share that trick with him. So needless to say for our 8 years of marriage you know what he has been using before he can even think about touching me to keep me warm. Hope it works for you. Let me know.
